BSEC-URTA was in the rising logistic hub of Eurasia: Uzbekistan

As the continuation of the strong cooperation with BSEC-URTA and AIRCUZ on the development of e-Permit for international road transport, BSEC-URTA was invited to the conference organized by AIRCUZ which brought the transport sector leaders and important representatives to Tashkent on 27th September 2022.

In the “International Road Transport: Challenges and Opportunities” conference in Tashkent, the IRU Member Associations gathered to discuss the increasing role of Uzbekistan as a transit country, digitalization, facilitation of road transport, the importance of smooth border crossings for the logistic chains and trade in the region and world economy.

The essential figures from the BSEC-URTA family were also at the conference and contributed to the discussions for creating stronger international road transport in the region. IRU General Secretary Mr. Umberto De Pretto, IRU President of the Property Transport Council (CTM) Mrs. Board Aslı Çalık, ABADA, GIRCA, ICCIMA, and BSEC-URTA delegation composed of Secretary General Mehmet Uylukcu and Deputy Secretary General Alpdogan Kahraman was in the conference.

At the conference, Deputy Secretary General Alpdogan Kahraman realized ​a presentation on behalf of BSEC-URTA which presented the goals and structure of the BSEC-URTA family, recent works, and reports of BSEC-URTA Working Groups on the border crossing problems, the efforts of digitalization of road transport documents, facilitation of transport and trade.

The BSEC-URTA Secretary General Mr. Mehmet Uylukcu, in his speech during the Gala event, thanked the AIRCUZ for their contribution to road transport and congratulated the Association and its carriers for becoming the second biggest issuer of TIR carnets.
