BSEC-URTA Participated in the 46th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States on 13th June 2023

In addition to the esteemed Excellences of Ministers of Foreign Affairs from all BSEC countries, BSEC-URTA, as a proud sectoral dialogue partner of BSEC PERMIS, participated in this meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the BSEC countries.
The meeting, chaired by His Excellence Mr. Ivica Dacic, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, had various vital points.
First, Serbia handed over its successful chairmanship to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The participants celebrated Serbia’s successful management during difficult times in the BSEC region.
Second, His Excellences Mr. Hakan Fidan, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, in his new post, realized his first participation in an international platform by the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States and took the chairmanship of BSEC on behalf of Türkiye.
In the meeting, BSEC-URTA Secretary General Mr. Mehmet Uylukcu also realized a speech and presented the gratitude of BSEC-URTA to the BSEC Countries, BSEC PERMIS Secretary General His Excellences Mr. Lazar Comanescu for their support to BSEC-URTA, thanked Serbia for their successful chairmanship and wished success to Türkiye for their next chairmanship.
Mr. Uylukcu also shared the activities of BSEC-URTA with the esteemed participants. He presented the crucial goals of BSEC-URTA and requested the support of the BSEC countries to facilitate border crossings, digitalization of transport documents, and expansion of the BSEC permit system, and underlined the necessity of missing countries in the BSEC Permit system, namely Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Greece.
BSEC-URTA thanks the Republic of Serbia for its chairmanship and contribution during the difficult times in the BSEC region and presents its best wishes for success to the Republic of Türkiye.
