Innovative Technological Entrepreneurship: The Role of Start-Ups 

The Coordination Meeting of the Turkish BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office with the participation of the BSEC Related Bodies, the BSEC PERMIS, BSEC Observers, and Sectoral Dialogue Partners was held online on 12 July 2023. 

The first official meeting under the Turkish Chairmanship was led by Mr. Rauf Denktaş, Deputy Director General of Multilateral Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Turkey.

During the Turkish BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office from July 1 to December 31, 2023, Deputy Director General Rauf Denktaş outlined the main priorities. Despite current challenges, the aim is to resume full collaboration among the Member States. Additionally, they will explore less-explored avenues of cooperation that will benefit the people of the wider Black Sea region. The priorities are as follows:  

– updating the BSEC Economic Agenda and approving main cooperation documents; 

– activating the Project Development Fund (PDF);

– reactivating the BSEC Business Council; 

– resuming the works of the BSEC Coordination Centre for the Exchange of Statistical Data and Economic Information; 

– strengthening the external relations of BSEC and the PERMIS; 

– strengthening the Troika mechanism; 

– holding in-person meetings.  

As a proud BSEC Sectoral Dialogue Partner, BSEC-URTA also participated in the meeting with Secretary General Mehmet Uylukcu and Deputy Secretary General Alpdogan Kahraman during the opening session.

Secretary General Mehmet Uylukcu, during his speech, extended congratulations to Türkiye for its chairmanship and presented BSEC-URTA’s total commitment to offering permanent support to the BSEC PERMIS and Türkiye for establishing a seamless and robust logistics network in the BSEC area.
