Turkish Minister of Transport Celebrated the World Drivers’ Day with Woman International Road Transport Drivers
Most countries celebrate 30th November 2024 as World Drivers’ Day.
Türkiye is one of them.
The Turkish Ministry of Transport and Structure, in cooperation with BSEC-URTA Member UND, organized a special day. The Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, His Excellences Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, gave a speech and attended a meeting with the women international road transport drivers, and the BSEC-URTA team was there.
In the event, His Excellences gave the floor to the women international road transport drivers to express their views and needs related to their needs.
Derived from the women drivers’ comments:
- The border crossings and truck parks are not designed for the needs of women drivers, and we need these changes as the women’s workforce and our next generation of women drivers.
- The road transport firms do not give us a chance to work as we don’t have experience as the pioneers of the women’s workforce in the sector. Give us a chance, and you will see the magic of the women’s workforce in the international road transport sector.
Finally, in observations related to the events, BSEC-URTA would like to present its gratitude to
His Excellences, Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, for his explicit declaration that significant incentives will be given to the Turkish international road transport companies who hire women workforce as drivers very soon,
To the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure family for underlining the importance of international road transport and women drivers on this significant day,
To the President of UND, Mr. Şerafettin Aras, for giving such importance and support to the UND Woman Working Party,
To the President of UND Woman Working Party, Elif Nuhoglu, and member Sadiye Nuhoglu, for their contributions to making this vital day happen.
As the BSEC-URTA International Secretariat, we congratulate all hero drivers, women and men, on their significant days.
Thank you heroes.
