Celebrating 90 Years of OFAE: A Legacy of Cooperation, Innovation and Solidarity
BSEC-URTA was honoured to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of OFAE during the BSEC-URTA Spring Events and the 47th General Assembly held in Thessaloniki, Greece.
For decades, OFAE has represented not only the transport sector of Greece, but also the spirit of solidarity, innovation, institutional cooperation and professional unity that inspired the very foundations of the BSEC-URTA family.
Established long before many international transport organizations existing today, OFAE stands as one of the most historic and respected road transport organizations in the wider region. Its 90-year legacy clearly demonstrates the strategic importance of road transport, professional cooperation and regional synergy for international trade and connectivity.
Throughout its history, OFAE has continuously promoted:
innovation and modernization in transport,
strong cooperation with public authorities,
international partnership and dialogue,
and the importance of digitalization in the future of logistics and mobility.
BSEC-URTA highly appreciates the leadership and valuable contributions of OFAE President Mr. Dimitrios Fokaidis, Secretary General Mr. Apostolos Kenanidis and General Manager Ms. Iro Doumani, whose efforts and dedication continue to strengthen both OFAE and regional transport cooperation.
The excellent organization and warm hospitality demonstrated during the Spring Events once again reflected OFAE’s professionalism, institutional strength and commitment to international cooperation.
As an important example of women’s participation and leadership in transport-related activities, BSEC-URTA also highly appreciated the outstanding operational support provided by Amfipoli Travel and its owner Ms. Sofia Athanassiadou. The successful transportation and coordination of the BSEC-URTA delegation by Ms. Athanassiadou and her valuable women drivers was noted by the BSEC-URTA delegation as an exemplary case of professionalism, inclusivity and operational excellence within the transport sector.
