Drivers Deserve Respect and Better Conditions – BSEC-URTA Praises GTI’s Modern Truck Park in Kapıkule
International road transport drivers play a vital role in keeping global supply chains alive. They proved their value to humanity during the pandemic and natural disasters, when the world called them heroes. Yet, as time passed, many of these heroes continue to face long border waiting times, limited rest facilities, and visa challenges.
In this context, the Kapıkule Truck Park operated by GTI stands out as an exemplary model of care and modernization. Designed to provide drivers with safe, clean, and human-centered facilities, the park offers proper rest areas, markets, and restaurants, ending years of difficult and exhausting parking conditions — where drivers often had to wait more than three days in inadequate environments.
Following the BSEC-URTA delegation’s site visit to the GTI-operated Kapıkule Truck Park on 8th October 2025, BSEC-URTA commended GTI’s efforts for setting a new standard in driver welfare and logistics facilitation.
The BSEC-URTA International Secretariat expressed its sincere appreciation to GTI for its warm hospitality and comprehensive presentation on ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect for the professional drivers who keep trade moving across borders.
