BSEC PERMIS – BSEC-URTA Coordination Meeting Held on Transport Facilitation

A coordination meeting between BSEC PERMIS and BSEC-URTA was held on 3 February 2026, focusing on strengthening cooperation in the field of transport facilitation and addressing border-crossing challenges in the BSEC Region.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Mr. Lazar Comănescu, Secretary General of the BSEC; H.E. Mr. Dimitrios Rallis, Deputy Secretary General of the BSEC; Mr. Sergii Kravchenko, BSEC Executive Manager; Mr. Mehmet Uylukçu, Secretary General of BSEC-URTA; and BSEC-URTA experts Ms. Elif Nuhoğlu and Ms. Şadiye Nuhoğlu.
During the meeting, Mr. Mehmet Uylukçu presented the priorities and planned activities of BSEC-URTA for the first semester of 2026.
Discussions also focused on the implementation of the Schengen Entry/Exit System (EES) and its implications for the road transport sector. In this context, H.E. Mr. Comănescu underlined the importance of adopting a pragmatic approach and practical measures to facilitate border crossings, noting that the views and recommendations put forward by the BSEC-URTA Management Council should be duly taken into consideration.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong commitment of both sides to further enhance BSEC PERMIS–BSEC-URTA cooperation, with the shared objective of improving transport efficiency and facilitating cross-border movements throughout the BSEC Region.
