BSEC-URTA Contributed and Participated in the Project “Enhancing Regional Freight Connectivity for Central Asia”

OECD is conducting a study as Enhancing Regional Freight Connectivity for Central Asia aiming sustainable bridging the gaps with physical and soft measures in cooperation with International Transport Forum, SIPA.

BSEC-URTA participated the continuing studies in cooperation with OECD Istanbul Center.

BSEC-URTA on its part  worked with OECD Istanbul Center and shared its observations, statistics, surveys realized by the Union targeting the  connection of the BSEC region with the Central Asia, creating a strong and sustainable logistic chain between the BSEC region and the Middle Corridor.

BSEC-URTA Deputy Secretary General Alpdogan Kahraman participated the project kick-off and stakeholder consultations in the project “Enhancing Regional Freight Connectivity for Central Asia” on 5th April 2023, in OECD Istanbul Centre.

Among the esteemed participants from the Ministry of Transports from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, ITF, IRU, TRACECA, UNDP, BSEC-URTA also participated and contributed to the meeting by sharing the Union’s goal for facilitation and  digitalization of the international road transport documents, calling the need of the political will to focus on the improvement of border crossing points.

The cooperation between OECD Istanbul Center and BSEC-URTA will continue aiming to enhance and develop international road transport.
